World’s Largest Probiotic Fermenter Opens in New York

The world’s largest probiotic fermenter has opened in upstate New York. DuPont built the $100 million state-of-the-art facility in hopes to secure its position as market leader in adding probiotic strains to food. About a third of the probiotics sold in the world contain DuPont strains. The probiotics industry is growing rapidly at a 5% growth rate per year, and $1.5 billion in U.S. retail sales.
